“Sen. Blackburn accuses Sen. Durbin of blocking Epstein’s flight logs subpoena, sparking controversy.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee has publicly criticized Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, accusing him of obstructing her attempt to file a subpoena for Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs. Blackburn took to a social media platform, posting, “@SenatorDurbin BLOCKED my request to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs. What are Democrats trying to hide?” She condemned Durbin’s actions, calling it a “sad day in the history of the prestigious Judiciary Committee.”
In a statement, Blackburn elaborated on the Democrats’ actions, alleging that they have continuously aimed to undermine the Supreme Court and Justice Clarence Thomas. She pointed out the reluctance to address allegations against Justice Sotomayor allegedly utilizing taxpayer-funded staff for coordinating speaking engagements in exchange for promoting her books. Furthermore, Blackburn highlighted the Democrats’ avoidance of discussing the estate of Jeffrey Epstein to unveil the identities of all involved in Epstein’s human trafficking ring.
Blackburn had initially pushed for the flight records to be subpoenaed in early November and reiterated her stance during a committee meeting related to potential subpoenas concerning a Supreme Court ethics probe. She emphasized the need for a subpoena directed at Jeffrey Epstein’s estate to acquire the flight logs of his private plane, aiming to identify every potential participant in the alleged appalling activities linked to Epstein.
The media had labeled Epstein’s aircraft as “The Lolita Express,” purportedly used to transport underage girls to his private Caribbean island and various other global locations. Epstein faced charges of sex trafficking and sex trafficking conspiracy in a New York court in July 2019, pleading not guilty. Later, he was discovered dead in his Manhattan jail cell.
