Naturally, Republicans are having a field day but, if they accept funding for the wall in exchange of extra funding for Ukraine, they’ll end up scammed and used once again! Don’t cave in for the sake of some blue local officials who’ ve just realized the magnitude of the problem!
On Thursday, October 6th, it was revealed the federal government is moving to ease construction of various physical barriers in the southern border. As expected, Republican officials have strongly criticized the Biden administration’s plan, a move resembling THE key policy of former President Donald Trump. GOP members argue that this announcement comes late and is seen as politically motivated, highlighting what they consider to be the administration’s hypocrisy. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas expressed doubts about President Biden’s genuine concern for border issues, suggesting that he is responding to pressure from fellow Democrats in blue states who are experiencing the consequences of his policies. Cruz characterized the move as mere “window-dressing,” implying that it is a superficial attempt to address the border situation rather than a sincere effort to address the concerns raised by Republicans and the previous administration.
Soon the Republicans will face fresh pressure regarding federal budget. The standing deal is “no extra security funds, no extra help for Ukraine”, a false equivalence because security funds have to do with the security of the American citizens, whereas help for Ukraine has to do with… Ukraine.
