Trump to testify in New York

At this point he is just reacting to liberal mistakes.

On Tuesday, October 3rd, Former President Donald Trump has announced his intention to testify in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ $250 million civil lawsuit against him “at the appropriate time.” Trump is listed as a witness for both the defense and prosecution. During a break in the trial, he stated, “Yes, I will testify at the trial when the time is right.” Trump denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the case was a “scam” because financial statements included disclaimers advising individuals to conduct their own due diligence.

Judge Arthur Engoron clarified that statutes of limitations do not bar evidence but rather claims in the lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that Trump and his businesses consistently misrepresented his wealth on financial statements given to various entities. Trump’s legal team argues that the statute of limitations restricts most of the case.

The trial, which focuses on six remaining claims, aims to determine potential penalties, with James seeking $250 million and a business ban on Trump in New York. The trial is expected to continue into December. Trump, the 2024 GOP front-runner, has used the trial as an opportunity for political messaging, alleging correctly that the trial itself is politically motivated to hinder his campaign.
