Humans have existed for approximately 350,000 years, but it has taken a relatively brief period for them to form what we recognize as civilizations. Throughout our time on Earth, humans have only been living in organized societies for around 10,000 years, a shift made possible by advancements in agriculture, animal husbandry, and eventually writing (and video editing). Among the numerous civilizations that have emerged, the majority have vanished over time, while only a few, like the Chinese and Egyptians, have endured in their original locations. The fate of ancient civilizations has varied, with some lasting longer than commonly perceived.
