The end of the war is near?

On Wednesday, December 20th, the Israeli military announced the discovery of a significant Hamas command center in the heart of Gaza City, dealing what they termed a severe blow to the Islamic militant group. The finding is part of Israel’s broader offensive in Gaza, with a focus on dismantling the extensive underground network used by Hamas for transporting weapons, militants, and supplies throughout the region. Israel asserts that destroying these tunnels is a primary objective of the military campaign.

As international pressure mounts for Israel to scale back its military operations in Gaza, Hamas’ top leader traveled to Egypt for talks aimed at negotiating a temporary cease-fire and a potential agreement for the exchange of Israeli hostages held by Hamas for Palestinians imprisoned by Israel. Despite diplomatic efforts, Israeli leaders remain committed to continuing the offensive initiated two months ago in response to a deadly cross-border attack by Hamas in October, resulting in 1,200 casualties and 240 individuals taken hostage.
