On Friday evening at 7:45 p.m., the Maine State Police located Card, providing a sense of relief to the community. Lewiston Police Department’s David St. Pierre expressed his relief and announced that Card was found near a recycling plant in Lisbon Falls, Maine, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Although the police did confirm the cause of death, they did not specify the precise location.

Authorities noted that the suspect had previously been employed at the recycling plant but did not immediately provide further information about his connection to the facility.

During a press conference on Friday night, Maine Governor Janet Mills extended gratitude to local and state law enforcement for their unwavering dedication in tracking down Card. Card had been the subject of a two-day manhunt that followed the mass shootings at the Sparetime Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees Bar and Grille. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, SWAT, and the elite ‘BORTAC’ Border Patrol unit, collaborated to locate Card, who was described as armed and dangerous.
