SEC won’t let the Ripple case go

If cryptocurrencies are securities, then our dollars are securities, too. Guess who dilutes their value!

Last month, Ripple labs won a case against the SEC regarding selling their cryptocurrency, XRP, on public exchanges. However, the ruling was ambiguous regarding selling XRP to premium, “sophisticated” investors, so the SEC wishes to overturn, at least partially, the July ruling. A few days ago, the SEC requested an “Interlocutory review,” which is a type of legal review that takes place before a final decision is made, so a higher court examines the case and potentially overturns the initial ruling. The new trial is expected to take place next year, between April 1st and July 30th.
