Protecting Jews from Muslim immigrants: self-destructive Europe is afraid of pro-Palestinian rallies

In synagogues all over Europe, special security measures are now in place.

In response to the unexpected attack by Hamas on Israel and the subsequent escalation of conflict since Saturday, October 7th, several European countries are taking steps to enhance the security of their Jewish communities. These countries include the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Concerns are mounting across Europe about a potential increase in antisemitic incidents as the conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hamas intensifies. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has characterized the situation as a “war” and has already launched retaliatory airstrikes in Gaza. The Anti-Defamation League warns of rising extremism and hateful rhetoric, possibly leading to an uptick in antisemitic violence.

UK: In London, where pro-Palestinian supporters have been celebrating non-stop since the beginning of the war, the Metropolitan Police have initiated “reassurance patrols” and anticipate potential protests.

France: France’s Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, has directed authorities to bolster security for the Jewish community, citing no immediate threats but expressing the need to assess the situation. Meanwhile, German police have increased protective measures at Jewish and Israeli institutions, emphasizing a commitment to preventing violence and hatred on their streets.

The rest of the EU: Spain, Germany, and Italy have also implemented similar security measures to safeguard their Jewish communities amid the ongoing conflict, with the consent of most opposition parties.
