Federal budget problems make Biden seeking peace (video)

Republicans who block the unrestricted aid to Ukraine and Israel are essentially contributing to peace. It also doesn’t hurt that Biden is bound to seek reelection against the only President in recent memory who didn’t start a war!

Two stories, one truth:

1.BIDEN WARNS ISRAEL IT’S LOSING INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT

On Monday, December 11th, Israeli forces conducted a heavy bombardment on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of numerous Palestinians. President Joe Biden, during a Hanukkah event in the White House, expressed concern, cautioning Israel that its indiscriminate bombing of civilians was jeopardizing international support. Australia, Canada, and New Zealand voiced support for a sustainable ceasefire and alarm at the civilian suffering in Gaza. The U.N. General Assembly prepared to vote on a ceasefire resolution, expected to pass after the U.S. vetoed a similar proposal in the Security Council.

Biden acknowledged Israel’s current support but warned that it was diminishing due to indiscriminate bombings. The conflict, ongoing for three months, has seen casualties rise, with Gazans facing dire conditions, including hunger and disease. The Gaza health ministry reported the spread of illnesses amid a lack of essential resources. Biden emphasized the need for Israel to change its approach, and leaders from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand stressed concern for civilians in Gaza.

2.ZELENSKYY FINDS AMERICAN SUPPORT IS DIMINISHED IN MORE WAYS THAT ONE

On Tuesday, December 12th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a passionate appeal to U.S. Congress for aid to support his country’s fight against Russia. Despite his inspirational words and references to Christmas, doubts loomed over additional American support as he visited the White House. The context had shifted from the warm reception he received last year, and President Joe Biden’s proposal for a $110 billion aid package faced serious challenges in Congress.

Republicans were pushing to link the aid to strict U.S.-Mexico border security changes, a condition opposed by Democrats. Zelenskyy emphasized the gravity of the situation, describing the conflict as a fight for freedom. The outcome of the aid package hung in the balance, raising concerns about the future of Ukraine and the geopolitical implications of the ongoing war with Russia.
