It’s not a surprising thing to say but things may change in the next few months.
During a recent interview with anchor Maria Bartiromo, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was posed with the hypothetical scenario of former President Donald Trump proposing a partnership as his Vice President. DeSantis swiftly declined the offer, firmly stating his intention to run for the presidency.
DeSantis emphasized the need for a candidate capable of serving two terms and winning crucial states like Georgia and Arizona – an electoral feat President Trump struggled with during his tenure. DeSantis underscored that past Republican candidates like McCain and Romney had succeeded in securing these states. He also made a compelling case for his candidacy by highlighting his track record as Florida’s governor, asserting that he alone among the current contenders, including Donald Trump, had consistently delivered on the promises he made to voters.
Governor DeSantis listed several achievements during his tenure, such as budget surpluses, reducing debt, implementing tax cuts, advocating for school choice and parents’ rights, prohibiting sanctuary cities, and expanding Second Amendment rights. He concluded by emphasizing the critical need for a leader who can deliver on their pledges, as he believes the nation is currently in a state of decline.
