Philadelphia museum criticized for hosting right event.

Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution is receiving backlash for renting out one of its event spaces to the far-right group Moms For Liberty. Moms For Liberty, classified as an extremist organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center, has been criticized for its anti-government and anti-inclusion stance. The group’s tax-exempt status and refusal to disclose its donors have also drawn scrutiny. Museum employees are outraged by the decision, as the conference featuring right-wing speakers, including Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, is set to run until July 2nd. An online petition in support of the museum employees has gained over 1,600 signatures.

The Museum of the American Revolution defends its decision to welcome all visitors, stating that rejecting based on ideology would contradict its mission. While some staff members disapprove, the museum pledges to support and accommodate them. The controversy has led to protests, including a billboard truck denouncing Moms For Liberty and demonstrations by activist groups. The museum’s social media accounts have received numerous complaints, with the institution addressing concerns through a general contact form on its website.
