Kentucky woman charged with fatally shooting her two children in Shepardsville home.
A woman from Kentucky has been arrested and taken into custody on charges of allegedly shooting and killing her two young children inside her residence in Shepardsville on Wednesday morning, as reported by authorities.
As per a statement by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting shortly after 11:00 a.m.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered two children, aged six and nine, suffering from gunshot wounds. The children were swiftly transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, they did not survive their injuries.
Tiffani Lucas, a 32-year-old woman who is the mother of the two children, has been apprehended and is now facing two counts of murder, according to officials.
No additional details about the shooting have been disclosed at this time. Bullitt County Sheriff Walt Sholar stated in a press release, “The investigation is in its early stages, and as more information becomes available, it may be released. At this time, it appears all parties involved in this incident have been accounted for, and there is no threat to the community.”
