Iran Threatens Israel Over Bombardment in Gaza.

“Iran warns of potential intervention in Israel-Gaza conflict.”

Iran’s foreign minister expressed concern that if the bombing of Gaza continues, antagonistic parties may become involved in the conflict against Israel. While visiting Beirut, Hossein Amirabdollahian accused Israel of committing war crimes against Palestinian civilians and called for an immediate cessation of Israel’s retaliatory actions following a surprise attack by Hamas, in which more than 1,300 Israelis lost their lives.

U.S. President Joe Biden cautioned Middle Eastern nations to avoid involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict, deploying American warships to the region and affirming unwavering support for Israel. Amirabdollahian remarked, “What is ironic is that, even as the United States urges restraint from all parties, it permits the perpetrators in the so-called Zionist entity to harm women, children, and innocent civilians in Gaza,” as reported by the Associated Press.

He issued a warning that “if the systematic war crimes perpetrated by the Zionist entity are not halted immediately, then we can envision various scenarios.” Although he didn’t provide details, it appeared to be a suggestion that Iran-backed groups might enter the conflict.

Senior Hamas official Ali Barakeh, speaking to The Associated Press in Beirut, indicated that allies such as Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah “will join the battle if Gaza faces an existential threat.”

Amirabdollahian criticized the U.S., stating, “America cannot supply weapons and munitions to harm women, children, and civilians in Gaza while simultaneously calling for restraint from all parties involved.”
