Israel seems resolved to destroy even the whole region if necessary. For a change, SAUDI ARABIA may be the real peacemaker.
A few hours ago, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has authorized a “complete siege” on the Gaza Strip as losses mount (900 deaths and 2,500 injuries, including 11 U.S. citizens, as confirmed by President Biden). Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are holding more than 100 hostages in Gaza, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. In response to this attack, the Israeli Airforce has targeted around 1,000 terror-related sites in Gaza.

In a separate incident, Israeli strikes in Lebanon led to the killing of three Hezbollah terrorists, as announced by the radical Islamic organization. There are allegations that Iran played a role in planning and approving the attack. An escalation seems possible but everything depends on the Saudi handling of the situation: in the past two years, Saudi Arabia has been trying to improve its relationship with both Israel and Iran (with the help of China).
